What's this all about?

1. New Shabbat experience!

2. Breaking boundaries between Jewish communities!

3. Uniting Jewish college students!

How?!

By bringing together college students from one campus to another!

Our mission is to unite Jewish students from all campuses. By sharing experiences and communities we enrich the life of the Jewish students on both ends. We send Jewish students from one campus to another to share how both sides celebrate the long lasting tradition of Shabbat. By doing so we break boundaries of all sects of Judaism: Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, Reconstructionist, etc.

Moreover, through these Shabbatons we are here to create a growth in Jewish life by empowering and inspiring involved Jewish students to share meaningful experiences and relationships with their peers. Using models of relationship-based engagement, involved students include their less-involved peers in their vibrant Jewish lives through genuine friendships integrated with initiatives such as intimite Shabbat dinners, explanatory learning, and holiday programming. The means are endless, but often start with a welcoming smile, a friendly greeting, and a meaningful conversations, or as we like to call it – “Heart to Heart”.

A little about how we got started...

Heart to Heart began in 2007 with a few students at the University of Pennsylvania, who were involved in Jewish life and wanted to help others feel welcome in the Jewish community. After seeing the possibility and need to expand – both among the welcomers and the welcomees, it has since become a global network of hundreds of students across America, Canada, England, and Israel.
